Marcus Scott

Marcus Scott is a freelance writer with a background in journalism, social media, stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, playwriting, dramaturgy and musical theatre (book & lyrics). He recently graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he studied in the department of Graduate Musical Theatre Writing. He graduated with a B.A. in Communications (Print Journalism) and a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts (Acting) from Buffalo State College in 2010.

His work has appeared in Out, Elle, Passport, Uptown, Essence, Trace, Giant, Hello Beautiful, NewsOne, Madame Noire (formerly The Atlanta Post), among others. His 20-minute musical “Vitruvian Man” starred Jason Tam (A Chorus Line, Lysistrata Jones), Stephen Mitchell Brown (Jekyll & Hyde) and Adam Monley (Mamma Mia!). His thesis, "Cherry*Bomb" received a reading at NYU’s Tisch. He is also a Dramatist Guild member.

When he's not writing, he has a deep interest in digital marketing, especially social media marketing (with professional experience using many platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.)
